Asha Nair
Director of Operations
As the Director of Operations, Asha plays a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction and sustainability for Community Business as a not-for-profit organization. Her leadership extends to overseeing the overall success of CB India, driving the development and execution of long-term plans towards organization’s sustainability, amplifying positive impact across India.
Asha is a seasoned operations leader and CXO advisor with over 25 years of strategic leadership in driving large-scale transformations and standardizing operations. She excels in establishing robust governance frameworks, streamlining processes, and delivering substantial cost savings while ensuring sustainable growth. Her expertise lies in designing and implementing solutions that prioritize financial prudence, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency, all while aligning operations with organizational goals.
Prior to joining Community Business, as SVP at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia-India (CBAi), she led end-to-end global workforce management and vendor engagement for a 3,000+ FTE business unit, while also overseeing business management for the India wing of 1000 FTE’s.
A global Indian, Asha hails from southern India, was born in the north, studied in the west, and fell in love with Europe during her stay in Romania and Hungary. Proficient in English, Hindi, Malayalam, and elementary Romanian, she is currently based in Bangalore, India.
Asha holds a degree in Hotel and Nutrition Administration and has earned certifications in Lean Six Sigma, ontological coaching, and outcome-based coaching from ICF-accredited institutions, reflecting her deep interest in cultural and social anthropology.
Outside of work, she is an avid nature photographer, finding inspiration in the natural world. She is dedicated to fostering inclusive, customer-centric teams and is passionate about continuous growth. Asha is committed to driving meaningful change as Community Business embarks on its next evolutionary journey.

Eliana Lam
Senior Programme Manager, Events & Strategic Partnerships
Eliana is the Senior Programme Manager of Events & Strategic Partnerships, based in Hong Kong. She is mainly responsible for managing both internal and external events, as well as fostering partnership with different organisations. Since 2022, she leads impactful organisational initiatives including the Community Business Awards. In this role, she has successfully showcased numerous finalists and their exemplary DE&I and wellbeing practices, collaborating with a diverse range of organisations and experts from both business and community sectors to drive social change.
Prior to joining Community Business, Eliana worked at an IT company, assisting in event management and copywriting. She also worked in an NGO, coordinating workshops and seminars, which help small to medium-sized non-profits grow better in serving the communities. With this work experience, Eliana has developed a strong interest in marketing and communications. She would like to develop her career in related areas and make positive changes to the society.
A graduate of The Open University of Hong Kong, Eliana holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with Honours in Professional Accounting. She is also the third cohort of StoryTaler's Advanced Mental Health Advocacy Training. She is native in Cantonese, fluent in Mandarin and English.

Johnny Chan
Senior Operations Manager
Johnny is the Senior Operations Manager, based in Hong Kong. He is mainly responsible for the operations of Community Business including people and talent, technology, systems and processes, and office administration.
Prior to this role, he was the Programme Manager of DIAN, and was responsible for event, project and member management as well as communications of the DIAN network. He also worked for Community Business as an intern when he was a university student, providing support to administration and other teams.
A graduate of Lingnan University in Hong Kong, Johnny holds a Bachelor's degree in Contemporary English Studies. He is native in Cantonese, and fluent in English and Mandarin.

Olivia Welch
Research Manager
Olivia is the Manager of Research based in Hong Kong. She reports directly to the Head of Social Impact and is responsible for driving Community Business’s pioneering research projects across India and the Asia region. She will be collaborating with key internal stakeholders, identifying new project opportunities and working closely with the Marketing & Communications team to produce innovative research projects.
Prior to joining Community Business, Olivia worked in the education sector in Hong Kong, in a variety of consultancy and hands on roles and volunteered for an NGO in England as a research assistant focusing on climate change and education.
Olivia is deeply passionate about producing contemporary research that illuminates new perspectives, challenges the rhetoric surrounding minority groups and advocates for social inclusion. She believes that shining a spotlight on personal narratives and promoting storytelling will transform research making it more vibrant and accessible, as well as adding a level of personability that people can connect with.
A graduate from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Olivia holds a MSc degree in Humanitarian Health Program Management.

Premadas Naik
Finance Manager
Premadas is the Finance Manager for Community Business. He is responsible for day-to-day accounting and finance operations such as accounts receivables, payables, bank reconciliation and assisting in auditing, as well as statutory filings and statutory payments, payroll, handling vendor and customer issues, and coordination with the external departments.
Prior to Community Business, Premadas worked for organisations such as Prestige Group as Assistant Manager, Pierian Services Pvt Ltd and Kirloskar Group.
Premadas has a BBA in Finance and an MBA in Financial Management. He speaks English, Hindi, Kannada and Telugu.

Tejaswi Gorugantu
Marketing and Communications Manager
As a Marketing and Communications Manager, Tejaswi is responsible for providing marketing, content and design support for programmes and events, reporting directly to the Director of Social Impact.
Tejaswi has previously worked in the Indian technology start-up ecosystem as a Marketing and Business Consultant as well as being associated with his family-owned business, handling various functions including Business Development, branding, social media content and design. Apart from his passion for marketing, Tejaswi is a sports enthusiast and a cook. He enjoys preparing delicious meals for friends, family and his little furry golden retriever Harry.
A graduate from Warwick Business School, United Kingdom, Tejaswi holds a Master’s degree in Marketing and Strategy and has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Christ University, Bangalore. He is a native speaker of Telugu and is fluent in English, Hindi and Kannada.

Travis Liu
Senior Graphic Designer
Travis is our Senior Graphic Designer, based in Hong Kong. Travis has always been passionate about drawing and visualisation. He worked on his own projects and collaborations over the past few years in order to further enhance his skills and creativity. Prior to joining Community Business, he worked in the graphics and marketing teams of an engineering consultancy and also interned at a jewellery company. He was involved in various aspects of design, from online social media and company website, to print like magazines and posters.
A graduate of Birmingham City University, Travis holds a Bachelor degree of Arts in Visual Communication (Illustration). Born and raised in Hong Kong, Travis is native in Cantonese and fluent in English.

Yee Lin Ng
Consultant, Consulting & Training
As a Consultant, Consulting & Training, Yee Lin is responsible for consulting, training design, and delivery at Community Business. With 30 years of experience in the creative and entertainment industry, Yee Lin has crafted campaigns, consumer journey activations, and managed projects for global brands across Asia Pacific. She is also an ICF PCC certified coach.
Yee Lin specialises in inclusive leadership, coaching culture in organisations, building allyship, and mentorship programmes. She integrates coaching elements into her training delivery to create interactive and impactful experiences, enriched with sharing of lived experiences. She aims to inspire individuals and teams to recognise and amplify their strengths, fostering a healthy work culture.

Shalini Mahtani, MBE
Founder, Community Business
Shalini is the founder of Community Business Limited and the organisation’s CEO until mid-2009. She has advised many companies on corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Asia, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance and corporate community investment. She has conducted extensive research and written numerous publications on these subjects and is a sought after speaker in Hong Kong and globally.
Over the years, Shalini was awarded several accolades due to her work in these subjects. They include the “Chief Executives Commendation for Community Service” by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2005, “Asia 21 Young Leader” by the United States’ Asia Society and the “35 under 35” list by UK based World Business in 2007. In 2008, Shalini was awarded an MBE from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II for services to CSR in Hong Kong. In 2009, she was honoured by the World Economic Forum as a Global Young Leader.
In addition to Community Business, Shalini is the founder of The Zubin Foundation, a charity devoted to patient safety and quality of care in hospitals, racial integration and special education needs of local non-Chinese speakers. She is also founder of HospitalAdvisor, a social enterprise to empower patients with information and to celebrate hospitals that put patient care at the centre of their services.

Catherine Husted

Catherine has been involved with Community Business Limited since its inception. She held the position of Deputy Chair of the Community Business Leadership Team from January 2005 to March 2012. Catherine was invited to be part of the Board of Directors of Community Business in January 2011 and was appointed Board Chair in September 2022. Catherine is Board Vice Chair of The Zubin Foundation and Head of Social Impact, Hong Kong for A&O Shearman. Catherine is involved in projects supporting access to justice and rule of law in a number of areas. At A&O Shearman, she is able to bring together teams of lawyers, professional business staff, alumni and clients to share their knowledge and experience on international projects, as well as focusing on local communities. In her broader work in the NGO community, Catherine encourages collaboration between a range of diverse stakeholders to bring new and original ways of thinking to the challenges faced by those seeking access to justice and to address a broad range of social needs. |

Dr. Ritu Anand
Board Director
Dr. Ritu Anand is a pioneer in the field of Human Resources with a career spanning 25+ years. She is a Senior Vice President at Tata Consultancy Services and spearheads TCS' Workplace Diversity initiative and is a member of the Group Diversity Council and the HR Steering Committee at the Tata Group. Her various advisory roles include: Member of Worldwide ERC Global Advisory Council and Advisory Board member of the National HRD Network in Mumbai. She is the Governing Board Member of WILL (Forum for Women in Leadership), that aims at bringing together the collective aspirations, talents, and mentoring of women across corporate India. She is on the Board of Directors at two Tata Group companies and has a doctorate in Psychology.

Edith Chen
Board Director
Edith Chen has over 27 years of experience leading business transformation, market expansion, and brand development across Asia-Pacific. She has held leadership roles as President of De Beers APAC, CEO of Brooks Brothers APAC, and Managing Director of Calvin Klein Asia, overseeing operations in 15 Asia-Pacific markets.
Edith specializes in strategy formulation, restructuring, and change management, delivering consistent financial growth and operational efficiency. She has led key initiatives including multi-market, multi-channel expansions, sustainability-focused innovations, and omnichannel marketing campaigns. Passionate about talent empowerment, Edith has orchestrated mentorship and talent development programs to foster future leaders and build strong teams. As an Executive Director in her various leadership capacities, Edith has contributed to governance frameworks, driven diversity and inclusion, and fostered sustainable stakeholder engagement.
She is actively involved in non-profit and community service, serving as a Council Member of the Belilios Girls’ School Foundation, a strategic advisor for Asia Charity Services, and a former committee member of The Asian University for Women.
